The exhibition will start on the same day with the conference. However, it will continue for two more days after the conference.
The exhibition will feature a selection of 150 beekeepers, inputs suppliers and service providers in the beekeeping sub-sector.
The two-day conference will be held at the Dar es Salaam Karimjee (Bunge/Parliament) Hall.
The target group for the conference is trade and food policy makers and their executive agents, public officials in the beekeeping sub-sector, honey traders, beekeepers..

WELCOME TO TANZANIA HONEY EXPO - 2009

The Tanzania Honey Expo (T.H.E.) is a special event comprising of a Conference and Exhibition of honeys, beeswax and other bee-products produced in East Africa. The event is organized and owned by Tanzania Honey Council which is composed of stakeholders from the public and private sector working in the beekeeping sub-sector.

Some key member organizations include the government of Tanzania represented by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism through Forestry and Beekeeping Division, Traceability-T Ltd, Honey Care Africa Tanzania Ltd, National Honey Show Ltd, Tanzania Gatsby Trust, SIDO, and Belgium Technical Cooperation.

Objectives of the Tanzania Honey Expo-2009

This year T.H.E will mainly focus on increasing trade in Tanzanian bee products by addressing market access constraints and supporting market access initiatives. Specific emphasis will be placed on:

  • Promoting Tanzanian bee products in the domestic and international markets
  • Striving for sufficient supplies of quality and safe bee products
  • Addressing the barriers of beekeepers access to financial services
  • Coming up with the Strategic Plan that will guide the development of beekeeping sub- sector in Tanzania
  • Facilitating networking amongst members and other stakeholders.
Mode of Execution

Tanzania Honey Expo comprises of two concurrent events; a Conference and Honey Exhibition. The Expo will attract a total of 500 participants. Out of this, more than 150 participants are expected to come out of Tanzania.
